Pontoons

A Pontoon is a flotation device with buoyancy sufficient to float itself as well as a heavy load. It is light in weight and has excellent buoyancy for flotation. Polystyrene is commonly used used as the core material in floating docks and pontoons. It is cost effective, has good flotation properties, and is easy to cut into custom pontoon profiles. Polystyrene can be used for both concrete and vinyl encasing of pontoons. Pontoons may be used on boats, rafts, barges, docks, air boats, hovercraft, float planes or seaplanes. Pontoons may support a platform, creating a raft.
